What’s this Neutrality Thing, Anyway?

The Presidential Candidates on Net Neutrality

Although South Carolina has already held its presidential primary, my home state of Texas is set to vote this week. I’ve already sent in my absentee ballot and am excited to participate in a primary that is garnering so much attention. Still, the 2008 elections are far from over and it’s important to know where our candidates stand on issues that are important to us. While net neutrality isn’t necessarily getting the coverage that other important topics are, each presidential candidate has made their position known regarding net neutrality. Haven’t thought to check out what your candidate supports? You can click here for more info: http://www.techcrunch.com/presidential/issue.php?issue=1

For the presidential candidates’ official website coverage on net neutrality, go to (presented in alphabetical order for partiality):

Sen. Hillary Clinton: Her official campaign website doesn’t appear to have any mention of net neutrality. However, in the past both she and Sen. Obama co-sponsored the failed Dorgan, Snowe Net Neutrality Bill. Here’s a link: http://www.multichannel.com/article/CA6405766.html.

Sen. John McCain: Oh goodness, I really can’t find anything on his website. Let me know if you do. I have only found the same quote that is presented in the techcrunch.com analysis.

Sen. Barack Obama: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/technology/ (Thanks for making that one easy, Senator Obama!)

For time’s sake, I’ve only included the three major front-runners of the presidential campaign. I’ll keep plugging away trying to find the best info and hope to get info up regarding the congressional elections as well.
